The two women in their early twenties said they were scared to death as they floated in the water after a Great White shark attacked their kayak, biting into it, and flipping them over, according to 7 News Boston.
They were out seal watching in two ocean kayaks in Plymouth, Massachusetts on Wednesday Sept. 3.
“I look over to talk to her and it came completely out of the water and got the bottom of the boat and flipped her over and knocked my kayak completely over,” Ida Parker said. “I saw at least four feet of its head. Four feet of it came up out of the water,” Ida told 7 News reporter.
Luckily the women were rescued after a neighbor heard their screams and called 911. The harbor master confirmed it was a Great White by checking the teeth left in the boat.
One of the girls lost her GoPro camera, and hopes it will be found to show the footage of the attack. Good-luck getting someone to go diving for it in the Great White’s feeding grounds!
It is unwise to go into a shark feeding ground like that in a small boat.
