See Why the Ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine Is Already Shaky

Despite a ceasefire between government troops and Russian backed rebels going into effect on Sunday, peace has not settled into some contested areas of eastern Ukraine.

In the above video, the BBC reporter has a close shave during a rebel supervised tour of what is left of Donetsk airport.  While fighting has stopped or subsided in many areas, as you can see by the other video further below the rebels say the ceasefire does not include the besieged town of Debaltseve.

Earlier today the rebels there claimed that they’d taken the important town which has provoked condemnation from the Ukrainian Government.

Both sides also faced a deadline today to begin pulling back heavy weapons from the front line reported AP.

Fears are already mounting that this fragile ceasefire will just be as ineffective as an earlier effort.
