Mainland official media reported that an armored truck suddenly burst into flames on April 16 about 1 mile from Guangxi Liuqin Jiulong toll station.

Escorts said they tried to use the fire extinguisher, but it had expired. The fire was so strong that it ignited the slopes on either side of the road.

The armored car burned down to the frame, and 11 boxes of cash were incinerated. Qinzhou Public Security has started a criminal investigation.

People from the mainland have questioned why official media under-reported the news.

One blogger said: “Only an idiot will believe this. It is so bizarre!”

Another commented: “The armored truck was suddenly on fire and the fire extinguisher has expired on time.”

Is this a conspiracy or just a coincidence?
