An unusual incident took place at China’s Northwestern University of Shanxi late on April 18, when a young woman wearing a wedding dress tried to propose to her boyfriend.

At around 10 p.m., she posted a message online, saying: “I’m wearing a wedding dress and am on my way to the dorm, but I don’t have any music or a microphone. If you can help, please come over. It’s the first dorm building.”

Many bloggers heard about the incident. One said: “I’ve seen boys do something outrageous like this, but for girls it’s rather rare.”

The dorm door was then locked by security guards, so her boyfriend was not allowed out. The guards asked everyone outside to leave, and the whole episode lasted about 30 minutes.

One of the boys in the dorm said: “We were asleep, and then we heard a lot of noise outside and saw this girl wearing a wedding dress, surrounded by a crowd…

If it was my girlfriend, I’d say yes!

Her 27-year-old boyfriend was apparently quite moved. Many girls admired her courage, and eye-witnesses sent their blessings, according to hsw News.
