15 Foods You Think Are Healthy… but Aren’t

Let me ask you if this happens to you too. I really like the idea of eating healthily, but usually end up with a pizza or a burger in my hands if I’m in a hurry.

This video shows how certain things we think are healthy may not actually be. It’s worth watching so you can be better informed with your healthy eating decisions.

I read some of the comments on YouTube (there are over 10,000!) Here are some I’d like to share with you:

  • People overestimate sugar as a “bad” fat-making ingredient. Sugar is the way to keep on working and for workouts; the problem is WHEN you consume it—Sander Bijsterveld
  • I dont know what’s up with food controls in the States, but here in Germany something like that won’t happen. Every single thing that gets licensed to be sold is checked multiple times over a long period of time to make sure that it’s 100% what it says it is and doesn’t contain mercury—Westborn
  • The best bet is just growing yourself (what you can) and trying to go to farmers markets and special places for stuff. The real problem is the price though—Makin Bacon

I have to say, this point in the video is irrefutable:

  • Something you should consider is, if you’re sweating all the water from your body, maybe you should try drinking… I don’t know… water!

A thought: We shouldn’t go to extremes—not everyone can have an organic farm or eat only fast food because it’s at hand. If we can balance both, perhaps we can survive this era. Even though I’m not an expert, I want to know what I’m eating so I don’t consume toxins without realizing.
