Drone Video Captures the Mother of All Traffic Jams

You may have a few good reasons why you wouldn’t want to live in modern-day China. Pollution. Lack of civil and human rights. Unsafe food. That’s just naming a few.

Now, you can add traffic jams during vacation time to that list.

The video below captures what happens when thousands of travelers are returning to Beijing and they get bottle-necked by some road tolls.

China is currently at the end of a week-long holiday, and so there’s plenty of returning traffic on the roads.

The jam took place on the 50-lane-wide Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway not that far out of the capital.

Yes you read that correct: a 50-lane-wide expressway.

The traffic got choked when it had to merge into 20 lanes for the road toll, creating a jam that went on for miles, the People’s Daily reported, says ABC News.

Five years ago, there was a 10-day-long traffic jam on the outskirts of Beijing. See a video about that below:
