The Tuidang movement, started in November 2004, encourages Chinese around the world to renounce their oaths made to lay down their lives for communism when they joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) or its affiliated youth organizations. Over the past two decades, hundreds of millions of people have given their assumed or real names to voice their separation from the CCP, the single most deadly regime in human history.
At the forefront of urging Chinese to take part in the Tuidang movement are adherents of Falun Gong, a traditional spiritual discipline that the CCP banned in 1999 and has severely persecuted since. Here, Vision Times presents some recent statements from those who have quit the Party, translated from the Chinese.
Making a complete break with the CCP and its ‘Anti-Cult’ Association (May 28, 2025)
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has caused the deaths of 80 million people through its numerous political purges. During Mao Zedong’s era, it promoted the slogans “finding joy in struggling against heaven” and “finding joy in struggling against the earth,” which led to environmental devastation. Deng Xiaoping incited the CCP military to suppress students, and Jiang Zemin launched a brutal persecution campaign against over one hundred million Falun Gong practitioners. Heinous acts such as the “tiger bench” and the “death bed” have been used to torture Falun Gong practitioners and persecute the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
CCP leaders have crushed democracy and halted the effort for democratic elections. The “Chinese Anti-Cult Association” has even incited the public to join forces with the Jiang Zemin faction in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners and their founder.
I hereby declare my withdrawal from the Chinese Communist Party and the “Chinese Anti-Cult Association,” as well as other such evil organizations. I call for China to move toward nationalizing its military [currently the Chinese armed forces are a wing of the CCP], establishing constitutional democracy, a presidential system, press freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of belief, academic independence, and judicial independence.

Only by holding presidential elections and elections for provincial and municipal leaders can China become the world’s largest democracy and move toward a bright future.

A Gen-Zer quits the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers (May 22, 2025)
I am part of the post-00 generation. The Chinese Communist Party’s regressive policies have made it difficult for university graduates to find jobs. All industries are struggling, and many of my classmates have been forced to take civil service and public institution exams just to earn a living — effectively joining this evil organization.
I hereby declare my withdrawal from the Youth League and Young Pioneers, which I joined out of ignorance, and cut all ties with the Communist bandits.
I hope more young people can see the true face of the CCP and take part in the Tuidang movement as soon as possible.

A northeastern Chinese quits the Young Pioneers (May 19, 2025)
I heard that people who practice Falun Gong have been sentenced to prison, some for over a decade. I was shocked, it’s simply horrifying that such good people are being imprisoned. It is truly tragic to be born in a China under the rule of the CCP. I once joined the Young Pioneers, and I now declare my withdrawal from this evil affiliated organization of the CCP, to erase the mark of the Communist Party and enter the new era with a clean slate.

A taxi driver hears about the Tiananmen Square massacre (May 16, 2025)
The Communist Party is too evil. When I was working as a taxi driver, a paramilitary police officer from Chengdu [in Sichuan Province] once told me that in 1989, during the June 4th crackdown, the CCP deployed troops to crush university students. I am an old worker. After a lifetime of hard labor, I barely have any savings. Now, nearing retirement, they want to raise the retirement age. I now have to work two jobs just to scrape by. I hereby withdraw from the Youth League and Young Pioneers that I once joined.

A Chinese student in Japan quits the Young Pioneers (May 12, 2025)
I came to Japan for my studies and experienced the beauty of its social order and rules. In contrast, under CCP rule, the Chinese people suffer, with no democracy or rule of law. I now see that this regime is a demonic force. The Chinese people have no enemy but the CCP. This is why I believe it’s true that “Heaven will destroy the CCP” and that its doom is a matter of divine will. Although I never joined the Party or the Youth League, everyone was made to join the Young Pioneers in elementary school. I now state my withdrawal.

Quitting the Communist Party (May 10, 2025)
I have come to deeply understand the evil of the CCP’s ideology and system, and how its resulting Party culture is filthy and decayed. The so-called leadership has essentially become a criminal mafia; it has done great harm to China’s international reputation, hindered China’s social progress, and negatively impacted the future of the Chinese people. I joined this organization only under coercion, as the CCP controlled every aspect of society. Now, I take this opportunity to break from this evil organization in thought and spirit.

‘Today’s Chinese society truly lacks people like Falun Gong adherents who uphold conscience and morality’ (May 9, 2025)
I read the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party [an editorial series that inspired the Tuidang movement], and its content is exceptionally well written — especially the chapter criticizing how the Chinese Communist Party has destroyed traditional culture. That part was particularly powerful.
I was born in a rural village and later studied and worked in the city, so I have a deep understanding of this. In the countryside, it’s full of local bullies and thugs; in the cities, it’s full of corrupt officials. Most people live aimlessly, without any belief or faith. You see people borrowing money and never repaying it, cheating their relatives and friends, stealing bicycles, manhole covers, electrical cables; there was no end to their immoral acts. In past years, many people in rural areas who went to temples to steal Buddha statues and resell them ended up in car accidents or got cancer.
The book given to me by a Falun Gong practitioner was brilliantly written. I support Falun Gong. Today’s Chinese society truly lacks people like Falun Gong adherents who uphold conscience and morality.
I’m also withdrawing from the Youth League and the Young Pioneers, which I joined when I was in school.
