A calling rooted in experience

In today’s fast-paced business environment, many entrepreneurs appear successful on the outside while quietly struggling within. For Angelique Mercurio, that inner disconnect is exactly where her work begins.

“Angel’s Friendly Coaching was created from a deeper calling to help women who feel like something in their life or business is off even when everything looks fine on the outside,” Mercurio said. “I guide, lead, and assist women back to themselves so they can move forward with confidence, stability, and direction.”

From business strategy to intuitive coaching

Mercurio officially launched her business in 2015, though coaching has long been part of her life.

“I’ve always coached somebody and I’ve always networked,” she said. “I would help coach the coaches, and they would help me too.”

Her background spans law enforcement, corporate marketing, psychology, and extensive study in metaphysical science, intuitive development, and energy work. She also traces her spiritual connection back to 1998, when she first worked alongside her aunt in a metaphysical shop.

“That experience opened something in me,” she said. “Over time, I realized I was being pulled toward something deeper—and I followed that.”

Blending business knowledge with intuitive insight, she now integrates both into her coaching.

“I don’t separate life and business—they’re connected,” she said. “I look at the full picture: energy, mindset, patterns, and decision-making.”

Supporting overwhelmed leaders

Mercurio primarily works with women in leadership roles—business owners, coaches, and healers—who often carry significant responsibility.

“They’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected,” she said. “Everything looks fine on the outside, but on the inside, they’re drowning.”

She describes her role as both guide and support system.

“I often say I’m ‘healing the healer’ and ‘coaching the coach.’ Anybody that ever works with me feels lighter, feels seen, feels heard, and knows what they have to do next.”

Coaching the coaches

Today, Mercurio occupies a unique space—working not only with entrepreneurs, but often with other coaches and healers themselves.

Her approach blends practical business insight with intuitive awareness, helping clients examine not only what they are doing, but how they are thinking and feeling.

Rather than offering a fixed formula, Mercurio adapts her approach to each individual.

“I don’t follow a plan for everyone,” she said. “I read their energy and go intuitively to figure out their patterns—what works for them and what doesn’t.”

Reset, refocus, move forward

One of the most common themes in her work is burnout. Many of her clients are high-functioning leaders who have spent years prioritizing others over themselves.

“They’ve been the strong one for everyone else, and now they need support,” she said.

Her role, she explained, is not to take control, but to guide.

“I’m not here to tell you what to do. I’m here to guide, lead, and assist.”

That guidance often begins with what she calls a “Soul Alignment Audit,” a focused session designed to identify what feels off and what needs to change.

“Even after 30 minutes, people feel lighter, seen, heard—and they know what to do next,” she said.

She recalled one client, a wellness coach, who had become overwhelmed and disconnected from her work.

“She was doing everything for everyone and started to resent what she once loved,” Mercurio said. “We identified what was draining her, set boundaries, and refocused her energy. Within weeks, she felt more in control and started attracting the right clients again.”

The power of looking inward

At the core of Mercurio’s work is a simple but often overlooked principle: focusing on what can be controlled.

“I can only work on what I can control, same as other people,” she said. “We cannot control anything that’s out of our control.”

Instead, she encourages clients to turn inward—through reflection, awareness, and often meditation.

“I wake up at 5 a.m. every day to meditate,” she shared. “It’s about stopping the outside and just listening to yourself.”

For many, that pause is unfamiliar.

“Most people don’t know how to do that,” she said. “But that’s where everything starts.”

A space to feel seen and heard

While her work incorporates intuitive and spiritual elements, Mercurio emphasizes that her approach is always client-centered.

“I don’t project myself onto people,” she said. “I listen, I guide, and I assist. Everything is free will.”

Her mission is rooted in creating a supportive space for growth and clarity.

“I want people to feel seen and heard,” she said. “There was a time in my life when I didn’t feel that way, and that experience shaped how I show up for others today.”

A message for the community

As her work expands across the U.S. and beyond, Mercurio remains connected to the Hudson Valley community, supporting local businesses and collaborations.

Her message is simple but powerful: “If something feels off, don’t ignore it. That feeling is there for a reason. You don’t have to force your way through everything or figure it all out alone.”

“This is where overloaded leaders come to stabilize and move forward,” she added. “You’re not failing—you’re overloaded. And you don’t have to carry it alone.”
