A truck driver in Chongqing was trapped on the edge of a cliff with his foot on the brake for seven hours on Saturday, before being rescued.

Surnamed Chen, the 27-year-old man misjudged a turn on a mountain road in Maoshanxia, according to Tencent News.

He was able to prevent his 14-ton vehicle from plummeting off the road merely by alternating his feet on the brake pedal whenever they went numb.

Locals brought him food and drink to keep him going until the police arrived with a crane to lift him to safety.
