A woman in Liaoning Province is in for some expensive repairs after three teenage boys took the golden angel off the front of her Rolls-Royce.

Surnamed Pan, the lady told local media: “Though the angel is not real gold, I asked the shop, and they said it will cost 240,000 yuan (over $39,000) to replace it.”

The police caught the boys at their rental home. They reportedly took it because they thought it was made of real gold, but threw it away when they got home and realized it wasn’t.

Ms. Pan was relieved to get her angel back, but said replacing its retractable holder would still cost tens of thousands yuan, according to auto.zjol.com.
