Footage from Kazakhstan of a mysterious 330-foot-wide black ring of smoke floating through the sky has locals convinced it was caused by a UFO.
It was seen in a village called Shortandy, 40 miles north of Astana.
The footage shows the cloud hovering in the sky for 15 minutes before it suddenly vanished without a trace.
This is not the first time this has happened. A schoolgirl videoed a strange black ring in the sky near Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England:
Experts have said the cloud was roughly 330 feet in diameter and floated close to a mile in the air. Andrey Solodovnik an associate physics professor at the Northern Kazakhstan State University, while speaking to Russia Today, dismissed suggestions the cloud was caused by aliens.
Smoke machine? Portal to hell? Mysterious black ring in sky baffles Kazakh village:
He said: Based on similar clouds seen in the skies in recent years, the giant black hoop was likely to have been little more than a smoke ring generated by combustion at nearby factories.”
Here is an example of how such a ring can be made:
Industrial machinery has been known to create ring-shaped clouds of smoke. But they are usually lighter colored and are less dense, and only last for 1-2 minutes.
There is the possibility that because there was no cloud-cover, it was more visible. With little to no wind could explain why it lasted so long before dissipating. But the black ring in the sky near Leamington Spa has still gone unanswered.
